Overall Responsibilities
Summary:
The Production Planning position manages the supply planning responsibilities for the Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed scheduling of various production processes within the facility and for working with co-manufacturers to establish production plans that are consistent with inventory strategy and customer demand. The planner will report to the Manager of Supply Chain Analytics and work closely with Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement, and Inventory Control. Planning responsibilities include both internal facilities and co-manufacturers located throughout North America.
Main Responsibilities:
Understand downstream and upstream dependencies, i.e., production processes, load
planning, transportation planning, lead timesMange block schedules to optimize dates and meet customer commitments
Work closely with comanufacturers to learn and understand the manufacturing processes
and help facilitate scheduling changes for smooth transitionsUnderstand the stock and MTO process and support domestic customer service teams
Help translate the master plan into machine schedules.
Monitor and correct imbalances to ensure schedule accuracy.
Lead, support and participate in project work as available to further personal development
and exposure to other parts of GPI.Monitor key performance indicators (plant capacity, warehouse capacity) and proactively
communicate issues and gaps with manufacturing, logistics, customer service and sales to
drive resolution.Liaison with Procurement and Inventory Control to ensure required materials are available
prior to production start.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience relevant supply chain experience:
Production scheduling or supply planning
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Finance or related field
with undergraduate statistical analysis or engineering focusFamiliar with end-to-end supply chain concepts.
Ability to present self in a professional manner, take initiative to get the job done
Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated data based analytical skills & problem solving
Strong Excel and other MS Office skills
Communicating effectively with a wide range of individuals in written, oral and interpersonal
form
