Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse and Production personnel to ensure timely execution of the company operations while ensuring uncompromised food safety compliance. Ensure that all duties are performed in accordance with USDA (U.S. Department of Ag), SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points), FDA (Food & Drug Administration), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), all safety policies and procedures, and any other established policies and requirements necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties
Quality Assurance Supervisor
main duties include:
  • Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer delivery

  • Creates production schedule and prioritizes job-orders for production optimization

  • Maintains the production schedule and other reports as required

  • Schedule and manage the first production process

  • Manage inventories on production SKU’s as they approach the end of project status

  • Interactions with Co-Manufactures on inventory and production schedules

  • Manage and develop the finite scheduling process for both Raw and RTE production

  • Interacts with Customer Service and Shipping/Receiving around order modifications and timing on outbound loads

  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Function
  • Supports Food Safety and Quality Assurance department in daily tasks

  • Trains and develops associates as necessary including but not limited to development, food
    safety, GMP’s, etc.

  • Ensures raw, commodities, finished product and micro environmental samples are collected in a timely manner according to company policy and reports discrepancies and violations to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor immediately

  • Accurately and efficiently enters food safety and quality data into computer databases

  • Maintain records of micro environmental sampling, raw, commodities and finished goods testing and reports and communicates out of specification results and documents corrective actions

  • Evaluates raw and finished product for defects and non-conformance to quality standards;
    accurately completes and submits supporting documentation; reports discrepancies and
    violations to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor, manager or other leaders immediately and documents corrective actions

  • Submit samples electronically or manually to the 3rd party lab.

  • Assist with microbiological testing of new products, technologies, etc.

  • Ensure GMP’s and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are being followed

  • Acts as a backup for Food Safety Quality Assurance technicians

  • Regular communication and interaction with manufacturing line employees

  • Maintains open lines of communication and positive working relationships with
    manufacturing staff

  • Sets as positive example by following all safety and GMP requirements at all times

  • Actively participates in Tailgate meetings

  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by management

  • Contributes to a successful food safety culture by following the established guidelines as
    outlined in the company Food Safety Policy

  • Follows all Company food safety protocols without fail

  • Always perform tasks in a manner that protects and promotes food safety

  • Cooperates with managers and other leaders to ensure all Company legal and ethical
    requirements are met

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications
  • Ability to utilize a calculator and perform basic math such as addition, subtraction,
    multiplication and division

  • Strong sense of urgency
