Job Summary

Director of OPEX Operations will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.

Responsibilities and Duties
Director of Operations – OPEX main duties include:
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of production activities of copackers and customer expectations

  • Maintains close relationships with copackers to ensure that the highest quality of product
    and services are being rendered and needs are met.

  • Work with QA team internally and with copackers to ensure GWFG standards are exceeded.

  • Manage material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level to support on
    time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels
    working with our Logistics team.

  • Prepare or approve specifications for all equipment purchases, vendor selection for bids, and analysis of quotation for all major purchases.

  • Analyze production schedules of copackers to identify process improvements

  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.

  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.

  • Develop, document, implement and enforce new policies and procedures as directed and on own initiative to provide an efficient and effective production operation.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms. Requires
    mobility, standing and walking.

  • Moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis

  • Manual dexterity and coordination are requested over 50% of the work period while
    operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, phone and similar
    machines.

Requirements
  • Bi lingual (Spanish/English speaking) a plus.

  • 7 years progressive experience in protein / food production (within food distribution
    preferred).

  • Good understanding of production and plant operations familiar with infrastructure needs

  • Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives.

  • Proven experience negotiating with equipment vendors, preferred awareness of top
    providers.

  • Position requires significant production experience including management of personnel, capacity in charge management and process development.

  • High energy to motivate and lead direct reports and coworkers to work toward common goals and objectives.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills, especially creating concise executive level
    presentations

  • Ability to work with ERP systems with shop floor integration

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and MS office suite

  • Proficient in reporting metrics weekly to management and development of metrics for
    subordinates.
